Finding a tutor

In addition to their weekly band rehearsals, students in the band program must have one private tutoring lesson a week. These lessons are usually 30min, and the cost depends on the qualifications of your tutor – usually $40 - $50 per 30min. 

Your child will not progress without private tutoring and home practice. Having a private tutor is a condition of being in the Band.

We have a list of tutors that many of our students use and we can share this list with you once you decide you'd like to join the band to help get you started with finding the right tutor.

It’s also important to check that your tutor has a valid Working With Children Check and Public Liability Insurance. You can check a tutor’s WWC status here:
